Dad's Cabbage

medium onion (chopped)

medium bell pepper (chopped)
1
clove garlic (minced)
1
lb lean ground beef
1
tbs Worcestershire sauce
1
tbs canola oil
1
medium head of cabbage (chopped)
cajun
seasoning, salt and pepper to taste
- Heat oil in stock pot over medium-high heat.
- Add onion and bell pepper and saute until tender.
- Add garlic, ground meat and Worcestershire sauce and cook until meat is browned.
- Add cabbage without stirring and turn heat down to medium.
- Once cabbage becomes tender, stir to combine with meat mixture.
- Season with cajun seasoning, salt and pepper.
Notes:
I first made this dish as part of the southern new years day
tradition of having ham, black-eyed peas and cabbage. It quickly
became a family favorite, even with the kids.
